Dear Friends,
A quick up-date on events in our lives.
First, we are happy to announce the arrival of Anika Faith Dewey on July
7, 2008, weighing in at 6 lbs 14 oz. She joins her two older sisters
Kirsten and Riley, who are glad to have another sister in their home.
There were some complications during delivery, but her mother Lori Dewey
is now doing well. Dad Evan Dewey now has a house full of ladies to look
after. Anika makes grandchild number six for us, and are we proud!!
Hopefully the next time we write, we will have some pictures to include.
In the month of June I had the
privilege of being in two camp-meetings, one in Iowa and the other in
Minnesota. The Iowa Holiness Association camp-meeting in University Park
was particularly significant for me, as this camp had much of my dad’s
support when he first went to the mission field in 1945, and so we visited
it each time we came back on furlough. It was at this camp-meeting in 1958
that I first accepted Jesus as my personal savior as a child, and then as
a teen in 1965 fully yielded myself to His Lordship over my life. So to
come back again to a place that has had such an important place in my life
was special.
The camp-meeting in Minnesota was also
special, as I was able to meet up with a friend from seminary days, whom I
had not met for perhaps 20 years. We had a great time sharing many
memories. And while in Iowa I also had the opportunity of meeting cousins,
some of whom I had not met in person for a long time.
We are grateful to you for your prayers
for us. We have traveled many miles without any mishaps, and met many
great folks, both old friends and new friends. Do continue to pray for us.
Next week we will be in Chattanooga, TN, for a training program, which
will give us better skills and ideas for our ministry in Ukraine,
particularly dealing with people who have life-controlling issues. Our
support continues to be very slow in coming in, but we know that our times
are in the Lord’s hands.
Yours in His service,
Frank & Chris Dewey
